| Maybe fucktard is more fitting, you be the judge. This morning, I am on my way to work, sitting at a red light waiting to turn left. To my left I see a green 93-97 Z28 make a right turn (heading the same direction I intend to travel) and gun it. My light turns green, and I (stupidly) make the decision to chase him and show him what my TT is made of. I accelerate, hit the turn, fishtail, and take off like a bat out of hell. The Camaro is getting closer and closer to me, and I'm thinking, "I am gonna smoke this dude." Before I catch up to him, this Intrepid pulls out about 75-100 feet in front of me, maybe further. Mind you, by this time I am doing at least 80. The Intrepid seems to be going very slow about getting into the right lane. I slam the brakes, swerve to avoid the car, and get back into my lane and I slowed the hell down. My heart was beating out of my chest, and I felt really really stupid for what I had just done. I settled back to the speed limit and right about then, a Crown Victoria is speeding to catch up. "Ohhhhh SHIT." Lights and siren blaring. I immediately hit the brakes and pull off to the right. Cursing at myself the whole time....heart pounding even harder now. "Shut off the Vehicle," the CHP says over the loudspeaker, "and show me your keys out the window." Shit Shit Shit. I'm going to jail. SHIT! He hurries over to the passenger side of my car, pissed off. (Understandably) "What in the hell were you doing back there, son?" Quick decision time. "Well, to tell you the truth, sir, there was a green Z28 speeding up ahead and-" "I didn't see anyone else speeding, besides, do you think I can catch everyone?" "No, no sir, I totally understand that I was in the wrong, what I was trying to say was that I was trying to catch up to him, and prove that my car was faster, I'm not trying to say that you should have caught him, I understand why you pulled me over." He began to lighten up...just a little. Oh, and BTW I was heading to the base in my flight suit. "Were you on your way to work?" "Yes sir." "Well I usually cut you guys (military) some slack, but in this case, you must understand the severity of what you just did." Shit Shit Shit Shit. "Yes sir." He takes my license, reg, and insurance info back to the cruiser. I proceeded to soil my pants. He took an awful long time to come back, "well, I've looked over your driving record, and it is clean." "Yes sir" "And I know that I am making a bad judgement call, but I am gonna let you off with a warning." WHEW! He proceeded on lecturing me about how I am 25 and don't need to be acting like I am in High School anymore, and how I could have severely injured or killed myself and others, and how my military career would be tarnished if I was caught driving like a fucktard (not his exact words). I felt like a jackass, but at the same time, relieved that I wasn't going to jail. Basically, I just wanted to share my story. I know that I have gotten on others from time to time about street racing and how stupid it is, and I apologize for being a hypocrite. What I did today was stupid and I could have killed innocent people in the process, or paralyzed someone. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I would have done that. I'm an idiot. Flame away.
